The remains of Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez who was reported missing 2 years ago was found encased in cement in a sealed metal drum inside a metal box also filled with cement off the Navotas port last July 10, 2009. The gruesome discovery of the remains and manner she was murdered and disposed off is typical of Mafia hit seen only in the movies but not in the Philippines where surreal movie scripts takes a life form of its own.

One Butas errr Batas Mauricio says godless people are responsible for the gruesome Mafia style cold blooded murder of Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez sister of actress former beauty queen Rochelle Barrameda. I dare say Batas logic is flawed and to pin the blame on Atheist is uncalled for because murderers do not necessarily have to be godless in fact there are people who kill and wage wars in the name of god. But then again if we follow the flawed logic of Mr. Butas then what do we make of those priest and bishops on the side of Gloria Arroyo are they then godless too? So much for that and that is another issue we have to deal with on another blog post.

All the while I thought that I have seen the worst in Chiman Rai the father-in-law from hell who ordered a hit against his daughter-in-law Sparkle. The Ruby Rose murder if the allegations are proven has the makings of not just a father-in-law from hell but a whole family from hell that includes the husband, and an uncle. This makes the Manson family looks so amateurish because unlike the Manson criminal rampage they are not actually related by blood unlike the Jimenezes.

P50K, that’s all it takes to play god using hired killers. A sad reflection of the kind of society that the Philippines had sunk so low in the muck with not just criminal mindset that afflicts the rich and powerful but organized one at that is just unthinkable. Well, we know where these Mafiosi wanna-be gets it and there is no dearth of exemplar behavior, just look at the Palaka dominated Tongress in using their sheer mob numbers to pass HR 1109 and you will see where they got it.

What is odd is when Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno tries to insinuate that Ruby Rose would have been alive today had she reported the physical abuse suffered at the hands of her husband Manuel Jimenez III to the police at the onset. The victim filed a case in court and if these different government agencies are working and cooperating with each other then there is a chance that she may not have suffered such gruesome fate. Unfortunately there is no guarantee that you can stop a determined organized killer exacerbated by numerous police and social agencies that don’t coordinate with each other is a sure formula for blunders and deadly consequence.

Now, what’s up with the Atty. Mario Aguinaldo the lieyer errr lawyer of Jimenez who cautions people not to get emotional in seeking justice for Ruby Rose? I dare this lawyer to say that in the face of the relatives of the deceased and his unfounded baseless ridiculous theory that it was a frame-up. And where exactly did he get the idea which he is still in the process of gathering, hopefully he is not looking in the cobweb filled miniscule mass inside someone’s skull they mistook for a brain.

Ok for the sake of argument let us say we are buying Atty. Mario Aguinaldo's argument below:

This is a frame-up. When these people learned that the couple has cases in court, they grabbed the opportunity to aggravate the situation and destroy the [Jimenez] family.

Now if indeed it was a frame-up as Aguinaldo “brilliantly” put forward why did the perpetrators encased the victim inside a drum, pour wet cement, seal the drum, place the sealed drum inside a metal box, pour cement again to dry into a concrete heavy mass and thrown in the Navotas Port to sink beneath so it can’t be found? If the intent was a frame-up by the so-called “other party with a score to settle” the perpetrators would not have gone through all the trouble and just dump the body near the Jimenez residence or place of business and that would have done the trick. Duh, what a load of smelly Navotas fishy tall tale Aguinaldo is peddling that no one is buying except the madaya errrr media.

Not content with his tall tale he now blabbers that what Manuel Montero confessed who was clearly bothered by his conscience as just mere “hear say” is as dumb as it gets. Yeah right, hear say according to Aguinaldo when Manuel Montero was able to describe how they killed Ruby Rose, her position in the drum, and where they dumped the body which only a participant of the crime can accurately describe. If it is a frame-up it is inconceivable that one will take the rap for a gruesome murder just to implicate another party. Why even admit his guilt, why not just give an anonymous tip implicating the Jimenezes?

The children of Ruby Rose need to be with their mother and her relatives, that is not dependent on whether the kids will ask their dad Manuel Jimenez III if they wanted to pay their respect to their mother. It only shows a remorseless and vindictive husband towards his wife asking for a separation and can be perceived as a sign of guilt. An innocent person will pay his respect to his deceased wife and bring their children with no condition whatsoever no matter what transpired between them, after all they were married to each other.

I am afraid that this is a case of domestic abuse committed against women if the suspicion of Rochelle Barrameda and the cases filed in court by the victim is accurate. Unfortunately with the victim dead it will be difficult if not impossible to gather evidence to that effect. Let us see, I am sure there will be those 2 siders of a coin flipped blabbering about the other side….. just remember a young mother’s precious life was cut short in the most gruesome manner and this blogger will not tolerate paid hacks to muddle the issue.

Walnut to proclaim Filipino Week; other Independence Day observances

On the occasion of the 111th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence, the City of Walnut, California, will proclaim June 8 to 14, 2009, as Filipino Heritage Week. According to John Chua, president of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of San Gabriel Valley (FACCSGV), the proclamation will be tonight during the council meeting that starts at 7 pm.<

FACCSGV will host the annual Filipino Heritage Festival on June 13 & 14 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Miracle Hill Campus - Gospel Life Community (18901 E. Amar Rd., Walnut, CA 91789). In addition to the free fun and entertainment from 1 p.m. to dusk in both days, the Philippine Consulate will be around on June 13 for a Consular Outreach Service (Philippine Passport renewal, Philippine citizenship retention and reacquisition, and registration for the Philippine absentee voting). In the evening at 7:30 p.m. there will be a Christian Concert featuring Becca Godinez. Ticket Donation: $20.00 per person.

Also tonight, June 10, starting at 6 p.m. will be the opening reception of the exhibit "Strokes of Genuis: Filipino American Artists of Los Angeles" at the City Hall Gallery (Main Rio Bridge) located at 200 N. Main Street, Los Angeles. The admission-free exhibit will run until July 3 with hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. It is a project of the Los Angeles Filipino Association of City Employees (LAFACE) in celebration of the 111th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, in cooperation with the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. The series of events celebrating Philippine Independence in California this year started Saturday, June 6, with a Pista Sa Nayon in Vallejo. It was held at the Vallejo Waterfront, the Filipino community's 23rd year of Independence Day celebrations according to Norma Placido, general chairperson of the 2009 Philippine Cultural Committee. This year, she said, the free outdoor festival had over 97 vendor booths, delicious food, continuous first-class entertainment, and a parade and activities for all ages.

>Vallejo, according to Ms. Placido, has been rated by the New York Times as the most diverse city in the United States. The city is home to over 120,000 people, including 30,000 Filipino Americans. Vallejo's ties to the Philippines date back to 1898, when ships that fought in the Battle of Manila Bay left Mare Island for their long journey across the Pacific Ocean. Since then, Filipinos have come to Vallejo to work, buy homes, raise families and start businesses. Filipinos are an economic force in Vallejo and they have one of the highest household incomes among ethnic groups. They also have a high rate of home ownership.

Another American city with a large number of Filipino residents (it is said that about a fourth each of the population are White Americans, Black Americans, Latinos, and Filipinos) is Carson, located southwest of Los Angeles. Also on June 6 the Filipino community congregated throughout the day and night at the Veterans' Park for the yearly, admission free celebration of Philippine Independence Day co-sponsored by the Filipino Independence Day Foundation and the City of Carson. Among the offerings were live entertainment, cultural and musical presentations, a Santa Cruzan, food and display booths, and a children's game area.

A day earlier on June 5, another whole day-and-into-the-night celebration was held at the Westfield Plaza Bonita in National City. It was billed as Philippine Faire 2009 and likewise free to the public.

Meanwhile, the regional chair of the Nation Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), Martin Celemin, wrote:

Last Saturday, June 6th (from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM) was a very glorious day for the Filipino American community in the Las Vegas metropolitan area.

The celebration of Philippine Independence week was well planned weeks in advance, and the result was just fantastic. Thousands of FilAms (estimated about 4,000) and others attended the multi-faceted cultural event highlighting FilAm talents, foods and games at the Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza adjacent to Lorenzi Park with covered large stage, surrounded by covered booths for food vendors and various products. Some food booths ran out of food. FilAm talents from cultural Filipiniana folk dances to magical performances by the youth could have easily beat American Idol show. The event was honored by the appearance and performance of professional singers Earl Turner and Lani Misalucha who are currently have a daily show at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel & Casino. The event was sponsored and managed by NaFFAA's Regional and State groups with the active leadership of the project coordinator Noel Casimiro assisted by hosts of NaFFAA members and FilAm Lions Club members. The theme of the event was "One Voice - A Community of One" Many congratulations have been received extolling the well organized and managed event. FilAms are so proud to have attended and looked forward to next year's celebration. It was, indeed, a very glorious day to remember.

From New South Wales, Australia, Loli Farmer, OAM, informed about their Independence Day celebrations. She said that observance started June 6 with a country town flag raising ceremony with Consul General Eva G. Betita in attendance. On June 7, Sunday, mass was celebrated in different suburbs and one in particular had three Filipino priests officiating.

June 8 was also the Queens's Birthday and a Filipino Australian, Manuel Bermejo Castillo, was honored by Queen Elizabeth II with the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in recognition for his community services. Castillo heads the Philippine Australia Sports & Culture, Inc. (PASC), which has received Linkapil Award 1991, the New South Wales Multicultural Marketing Award from the Community Relations Commission NSW Government, and the Araw ng Maynila Award for international organization.

On June 12, a flag raising ceremony will be observed by the Consul General and staff and the government department of tourism and trade. At 10:30 a.m. there will be an award ceremony at Blacktown City Council where three Filipino Australians will receive the Chifley Volunteer Award. Dorothy del Villar, Maria Theresa Sayas, and Crresencio Pilao will be awarded for community services by the Federal member of Chifley Roger Price, MP Chief Government Whip, and the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.

On June 13, there will be another Philippine Independence Day flag-raising at Blacktown City Council. The city is home to the biggest concentration of Filipinos in Australia. A reception will be held in the evening at the Four Seasons Hotel with diplomats and community leaders in attendance. Several Independence Day Balls have been organized by several groups, Ms. Farmer added.

June 19 will see a flag raising ceremony and dedication of Rizal Park at Campbelltown City Council. Another flag raising will be held the following day at Penrith City Council. Philippine Independence Day extends to July with Parramatta City Council, sister city of Cebu city, as host.

Other states will also be celebrating Philippine Independence Day, Ms. Farmer said, among them: Canberra ACT, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territoy, Victoria and Tasmania. She said that New South has more than half of the more than 200,000 Filipino immigrants in that country.

Manny Pacquiao-Oscar De La Hoya Fight Is ON....

Looks like most of the kinks in the deal has been ironed out after the on and off negotiation almost fell apart for a mega-fight that will rake in moohlah for both fighters scheduled for Dec. 6.

The negotiation broke down when Oscar De La Hoya’s camp insisted on a 70/30 split and Manny Pacquiao rejecting the split. At two-thirds/one-third split of the revenue with De La Hoya getting the biggest chunk, it will be the biggest purse to come Pacquioa’s way at around US$20 million or more.

While it is a welterweight non-title bout, Manny Pacquiao is taking a bigger risk against a fighter that is taller at 5’ 10” ½ against Pacquiao at 5”5” and giving away 7” in reach against a jabber.

On the other hand Pacquiao is at his prime at 29 years physically and highly improved boxing skills as seen in the one sided rout of lightweight defending champion David Diaz.

Pacquiao is definitely more comfortable at 136-140 lbs. the only Filipino boxer to have won in five lower division will be fighting a De La Hoya at 35 years who is more comfortable around 154 lbs. will have to go down to 147 lbs. Are we going to see a weaker De La Hoya just like Morales? That will favor Pacquiao if that is the case but maybe not as De La Hoya has also won multiple titles too and has shown his versatility in different weight classes.

Another encouraging write-up is by Jeff Schimmel of Bleacher Report whose contention if he is right on target with his argument that De La Hoya is just more of hype concocted by the media, then Pacquiao may indeed be the Mexican’s worst nightmare.

Mike of Pinoy Sports Writer has a favorable forecast too in favor of Manny Pacquioa citing the specific pros and cons and if they are right Pacquiao will just solidify his stardom in world boxing.

Bookmakers in Nevada has finally come out with the odds favoring De La Hoya 2 to I and while there are upsets, who will win the fight will of course be determined on the night of the actual fight. The odds on the betting board will probably be listed at about minus 185 (risk $1.85 to win $1), with the price on Pacquiao about plus 165 (risk $1 to net $1.65). While it appears that the odds favor De La Hoya this is considered an even match and not a one sided fight in favor of De la Hoya.

I think Manny Pacquiao has an even chance of winning that is if we take into consideration Jeff Schimmel’s contention and this LA times article:

De La Hoya is 2-2 in the welterweight division, losing to Felix Trinidad and Shane Mosley, and defeating Gatti and Derrell Coley.

"You can actually lose a fight on the scales," Schaefer said. "To make 147 would be a big concession on Oscar's part."

If De La Hoya comes out like an emaciated warrior Pacquiao has a chance, on the other hand this is a huge 2 step up in weight class for Manny so it still may go in either direction…..

James Yap the New Sprint Sensation

Recah Trinidad is asking if James Yap is a shoo-in for the Philippine national track team. Well Recah need not ask, I have seen this guy run and there is no doubt that James Yap is the new sprint sensation. Unlike Manny Pacquiao who holds 4 title belts gladly giving up his super featherweight title and just stick to his title at the lightweight division, all James Yap is holding is his popularity in the bola bola (ball ball yikes that did not sound well in Filipino) errr in the Philippine Basketball Association. James Yap just broke Jay Leno’s book of hilarious world record, no I did not say the Guinness book of world records beating by a hair the Philippine Army Iraq contingent in the 500 meter dash, I am wondering if he will have to choose between basketball and running?

Recah thinks the millionaire ball player should be expecting a call from Go Teng Kok, president of the national track and field association, anytime soon. Adding they should be able to hit it off well and I could not agree more.

I have seen the news clip and it was hilarious if not pathetically funny when Yap acting like a brat kicked Talk ‘N Text import Terrence Leather from behind. What was he thinking or better yet what was he smoking anyway that by kicking someone in the back who is obviously bigger than him will save his teammate Jordan Salvador who shoved the ball at leather? Come to think of it he actually saved his teammate from Leather who must have been so exhausted to even think of kicking his teammate’s butt while trying to catch the new sprint sensation running like an Olympian.

Poor Kris, she must be so disappointed seeing her knight in shining armor was all shine and armor but not much of a savior if we go by the way he scampered to safety like his life depended on it. Well actually it is just his butt that is in the line here or maybe the embarrassment of getting slapped silly, but then again running like a sprinter is even more embarrassing isn't it? For one he definitely do not measure up especially when one finds himself in the family of a true hero Ninoy Aquino. Whatever Kris saw in him behind his back is definitely not a halo it is his bloated ego...........

Sharon Tate Convicted Killer Susan Atkins Still in the Lam

The debate rages on whether Sharon Tate Convicted Killer Susan Atkins still in the lam deserved compassionate release. Maybe I have loss compassion but I still cannot see any compelling reason why she should be released. On the contrary if there is anyone that deserved to be released here is none other than the taxpayers. I say free the taxpayers of the burden of spending much needed resources that benefits law abiding citizens than convicted cold killers.

It is just unbelievable that a remorseless brutal murderer who never gave her victims a sliver of compassion despite her pleas to let her live for the sake of her unborn child was killed anyway, saying she has no mercy for her. Not content with her barbaric attacks on her victim after the killing even tasted her blood and used it to write “Pig” on the wall.

If you think about it these sociopaths are playing the system and taking advantage of society’s humanity and compassion. The state has spent US$1.4 million for her medical care (brain cancer) and security while a good number of Californians with no insurance or under insured are left in a quandary how to pay for their medical bills. Here is Susan Atkins a sociopath convict whose million dollar bill is shouldered by the taxpaying public some of whom don’t even have health insurance.

Yeah, released her to her family and supporters, let them foot the medical cost and let us see how far their compassion goes.

While the state cut backs on education budget we have convicts taxing state resources to the tune of US$1.4 million which would have been put to better use in shaping responsible law abiding citizens of the future. The state spending so much money and to this day has not shown any remorse is just ridiculous, talk about the Christian doctrine of giving your other cheek so you can get slapped silly is just incredulous. Mind you she did not slap her victims she brutally murdered innocent victims that has not done anything wrong to her by any stretch of imagination and yet she asked for compassionate release?

Karma that what it is, she reaped what she sow but of course no one would wish what she is going through for anyone but in the same vein who would wish to be where she puts her victim? She is suffering now no doubt about that, but her victims and their families are still suffering the pain and anguish so why should she deserve special consideration?

What’s up with these criminals anyway? These criminals it seems are able to hide under the umbrella of humanity and compassion while some through constitutional free speech as if they are law abiding citizens without any debt to society. Why they even have websites, selling their "artworks" and advertising for a pen pal soliciting funds to those gullible enough to be scammed by these convicted death row inmates. Talk about the leveraging power of the internet, where the likes of convicted wife killer and her unborn child Scott Peterson insulting the justice system with his "wrongful conviction" appealing for support is just unreal. How about a serial killer like Charles Ng convicted of murdering 16 young men describing himself on the internet as shy while offering his "wildlife artworks" is just grotesque. Why that is just like a door to door salesman peddling his ware and offering friendship is just bizarre. What's up with this commercial servers anyway giving this scums of the earth online space? Could it be about hits, more hits means potential big revenue so do they even care if they have sociopaths in their servers?

I wonder what exactly goes inside their perverted sociopath mind when they get away with these perks able to enjoy freedom when they have denied their victims their very fundamental basic right to live. Dregs of society and yet we are concerned about their welfare, but how about their victims and those they left behind should we not be more concerned about them? One's individual human rights should end when other individuals' rights are trampled, so how far can we take it?

Its final Susan Atkins plea for compassionate release denied, a fitting quote from Anthony DiMaria, the nephew of Jay Sebring, a hairdresser killed with Sharon Tate says it all:

"To sum up these murders in terms of cost efficiency trivializes the victims' lives and the lifelong impact on the victims' families," he said, reading a statement toward the end of the hearing.

"In my mother's words, 'Susan Atkins repeatedly committed crimes requiring full premeditation and executed them in a cavalier manner that afforded her victims no mercy,' " DiMaria continued.

"You will hear various opinions and perspectives today. But you will hear nothing from the many people who lie in their graves.

Indeed, what about the victims?

UPDATE: Susan Denise Atkins died at 11:46 p.m. PT Thursday (2:46 a.m. Friday ET) September 24, 2009 at the Central California Women's Facility in Chowchilla.

That is exactly what the brochures and internet site entice you, vacationing in the Philippines’ beautiful tropical paradise while at the same time taking a journey towards life-enhancing cosmetic surgery procedures which can restore or enhance your features. A trip so rewarding in terms of gaining inner confidence looking and feeling years younger in your quest for affordable rejuvenation at a significant cost savings that you can only dream of is possible in the tropics.

The growing industry shows a lot of potential that the Philippines have included medical tourism in their government program to get a share of the burgeoning market of neighboring Asian countries.

All is well that ends well in a fairy tall tale, but what happens if somewhere along the line something goes awry and instead of the enhancement you expect from the medical procedure it went south causing undue physical and psychological damage. What will you do? How will you deal with the problem when you are already back home thousands of miles away?

Filing a case against the husband and wife popularly known as the “Doctors to the stars” Manuel and Rosario Calayan, registered owners of the Calayan Surgicenter for the botched procedure in 2007. Indeed a mess that Happy Thoughts wished Louem Martinez should have first researched Maxoderm: An alternative for men, than underwent the procedure avoiding the end result of having a "badly deformed, sagged and bumped" prized possession.

Take note, if ever you are contemplating on enhancing your “prized” possession you should check out the Philippine laws and regulation first because they are not exactly the same laws and regulation that you see in the US that protects the patient that holds the medical profession to the highest ethical standards. Also, while there are laws to that effect you have to make sure that the establishment you are dealing with strictly abide and follow said rules and regulations. After all, it is still a nation where corruption is so endemic that some people actually thrived on it and thus skirting the law is a common accepted practice.

It’s a messy legal battle with the Calayans' insisting that the patient signed a liability release form which the patient claimed was shoved to him by the clinics' personnel and no one explained exactly what it means. On the other hand Calayan insist that he explained everything to him and has been doing this procedure for quite some time. Confusing I should say especially when claims and counter claims are opposite what both parties are saying. What is interesting is that the substance used to enhance Martinez pride and glory errr however you want to call it should be enough for one to be ultra cautious if one is contemplating this kind of procedure or any procedure for that matter, to quote:

He and his lawyer Dioscoro Peligro showed reporters a letter from the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) stating aquagel and aquamid are two different products and chemicals.

“I have been told that aquagel is banned, while aquamid needs a permit for its importation and that this has already expired in 2006,” Martinez said.

In the letter, BFAD director Leticia Barbara Gutierrez said both aquagel and aquamid are “medical devices and their registration prior to importation and sale is mandatory.”

“Calayan Surgicenter Corp. is not the licensed importer of the above products,” Gutierrez said.

I know I heard this before that an illegal contract is not enforceable so I just don’t know if this applies in this case. If what the lawyer of Martinez is saying is true then a banned or illegal substance was used to enhance Martinez “pride and glory” that is now deformed so that should really give people the creeps if they are contemplating on similar procedure in the Philippines. Unless one is willing to risk ones deformed "pride and glory" and the hassles of messy lawsuits and counter suits, as shown in this case:

“I did not participate in any of the medical procedures performed on the complainant, nor did I give any opinion or medical advice to the complainant,” she said, adding that Martinez was never her patient.

In her complaint-affidavit filed in April, Rosario Calayan claimed there was no legal basis to hold her liable as she has never met Martinez nor did the patient consult with her.

She also accused the patient of perjury and unjust vexation because of the “malicious filing of the baseless criminal complaint.

Her lawyer Reggie Ukol maintained that such circumstances do not immediately hold her liable for the supposed crime.

“Those circumstance don't mean that there was a conspiracy to commit the crime,” he said in an interview Thursday.

A patient seeking redress for his deformed pride and glory being counter sued is not pleasant and truly makes it a horrible experience. Top that with a banned device if it is true as claimed by Martinez lawyer and BFAD Director Gutierrez implanted inside your body is not exactly safe and reassuring. Calayan claims that it was Aquamid that he used and just made a mistake in saying Aquagel but the point is these substances are irrelevant if both were not approved by BFAD. Think of what will happen if a woman goes for breast augmentation, or reshaping some snub nosed Filipinos that may end up shaped into a bursting tomato using banned medical devices is just scary..... yikes and you get bullied with a counter lawsuit is like adding insult to injury and what about organ transplant? Oh never mind, lets deal with that some other time.......

The problem started when Martinez went to doctor Calayan for the removal of a cyst through Liposuction and the penile enlargement was supposedly an added bonus or part of the package deal. Now what was that all about? Liposuction to remove a cyst? Guess how that turned out? According to the new P14 million complaint of estafa and reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injury filed by Martinez the operation did not work and the cyst instead spread and grew bigger.

The bottom line is that you get what you paid for and come to think of it the hassles of the court system is not something one enthusiastically wants to get involved with. Dealing with the court system is bad enough and to get entangled in the justice system in the Philippines that is perceived by the public to be corrupt is an experience you don't want to be in. Then the distance which is thousands of miles away does not help either and the time, energy and resources you spend in going back and forth in a court system that is known for its turtle paced disposition is a very expensive proposition. What about the unrealized income that you will lose for the time you have to spend flying back and forth to attend your hearings? Is it worth it?

Luckily or perhaps unluckily whichever way you want to look at it this case was noticed by the press thus hopefully will send a message that people are watching attentively on how this will unfold. But that alone is not a guarantee that the aggrieved party will get justice so what happens if the case is not a celebrated case, what are the chances of getting a decision in favor of the aggrieved party? How many more botched procedures are out there that the victims are not reporting for fear of ridicule and the scandalous embarrassment one has to go through? Ces Drillon Negotiators tagged as the Principal Suspects!

The Ces Drillon abduction saga is almost back into full circle so muddled and so confusing just like our political system where you can’t differentiate between the real “heroes” from the villain. It appears that the lead negotiator Sulu Mayor Alvarez Isnaji and his son Haider acting as runner who were supposed to be the savior of the victims Ces Drillon, her crew member Jimmy Encarnacion and Angelo Valderama together with their local guide well respected peace advocate and MSU Prof. Octavio Dinampo are now the principal suspects in the kidnapping case.

Dominique Cimafranca calls this a Moro-Moro (stage play) and I could not help agreeing especially when Raul Gonzales opens his mouth, you know something is amiss. Somehow it is really difficult to take the official pronouncement as truly credible when the image of Acsa Ramirez (state witness paraded as the principal suspect by the president no less) seems to haunt us like a bad dream. On one hand Gonzales is saying that Alvarez Isnaji’s stature in Sulu is as high as Misuari (MNLF Chieftain) himself so it follows that he is the most qualified negotiator. But he is not an official government negotiator, (does that mean one has to have a license or something, hehehe because under such circumstance it is the rebels that calls the shot?) and then follows it up with the coming ARRM election where Isnaji is running for Governor. In effect what Gonzales is saying is that kidnapping is just another way to “raise campaign funds” and the donors are the victims willing to cough up millions for their release.

Here is a quote from Job Tabada’s article A few journalists would Dare, that gives us a glimpse on the complexity of the problem in Mindanao:

I have no clue if this Gonzales is suffering from a senior moment or what? After saying that Isnaji is a very influential person in the area with a large following thus the bandits chose him as the negotiator while at the same time saying it was circumstantial evidence, which the accused (Isnaji) should explain. Ayayayay, why exactly will Isnaji explain why he was chosen just don’t make sense, is it not the ones who chose him who should explain why, instead of the chosen one?

PNP chief Avelino Razon Jr. said the Isnajis were charged with four counts of kidnapping-for-ransom before the Department of Justice along with 14 Abu Sayyaf bandits identified by Drilon and her crew Angelo Valderama and Jimmy Encarnacion.

An "Atty. Jose Lorena/Nasser Inawat" was included in the charge sheet. He was spotted getting off a SeaAir plane at the Zamboanga City airport carrying two duffel bags. This was a day before Drilon, Encarnacion and professor Octavio Dinampo were released before midnight Tuesday in Sitio Danasi, Lower Sinumaan, Talipao, Sulu late Thursday.

Of course the portrait posing duo of Sulayman Patta alias Abu Harris and Walid alias Tuan Wals, who each have a P500,000 bounty are also charged with kidnapping.

For whatever its worth it will be the people in Sulu that stands to lose from all this and hopefully planned and on-going developments in the area is not hampered if not stopped because of security and peace and order concerns. The situation gets aggravated when people like this guy with a doctored degree errr doctorate in History at FilAm Forum Yahoo group utters ignorant rants that hopefully does not represent the mindset of Philippine journalist:

Woe unto you Ces Drilon. Only yesterday you were an anti-police and vocal assaulter against those on the side of government in the Peninsula siege.

But until yesterday you invoked police assistance and support to regain your freedom.

I pronounce you guilty of plunder against journalistic discretion, committed with worse blunder in the exercise of our profession.

Why?

Plunder? Maybe he meant blunder but if it is plunder I am surprised at how he throws out plunder so loosely while at the same time not have a problem with Gloria Arroyo’s squandering habits and even showers his idol praises fit for a Queen kong errr delusional royalty. On the other hand maybe he just gets his “big words” so mixed up in another response to POGB’s which he re-titled “A most gentlemanly reaction to Frank Grego's Ces Drillon indiscretion:”

Yes, Jules, I hope she realy does - tell "all" the story. Former kidnapped victim Arlyn de la Cruz Collantes of ABC 5 told "ALL" when she said "lahat na puedeng gawin, nagawa nila sa akin".

Susan Enriquez of GMA 7 likewiswe told "all" when she narrated that she was told by her kidnapper - "Magkakaanak ka rito..."

I join you in presssing the "indiscretionist" indiscrete Ces Drilon to tell all.

Gentlemanly? What is he smoking anyway that he seems to confuse his perverted voyeuristic urge even in the most revolting criminal situation like a mad dog salivating and yet think it is "gentlemanly" is just soooooo sick. It makes me wonder if people with this kind of mindset are confronted with this kind of criminality first hand, will they salivate and scold their fellow journalist for breaking the “journalist code” while being raped instead of reporting or doing something to stop the medieval sexual aggression of criminal lowlifes?

This person actually worries me because he is addressing himself in the third person in issuing his praise errr press releases at FilAm Forum, well for one those afflicted with schizophrenia have different personalities so hopefully he is ok. Ces Drillon admitted her mistake and this guy makes me wonder if his mama treated him right when he was growing up or gives him a mouthful when he has “accidents” thus the tendency to blame the victim instead of directing his frustration to the perpetrators. What if they are the one's in the same situation where terrorist morons whose tiny brains fell of their index finger at any moment has the power to decide their fate? They will probably be singing a different tune? But then again since they have been so used to the perversion and aberration as normal who knows, maybe they will even embrace it with open arms like doggies begging for bones.

If only these so-called journalist following a "very strict journalistic code" can elevate this in terms of confronting ATM Journalism head on then they may be able to play a vital role in holding public officials accountable towards good governance. But then again just like any shallow braggart whose mindset is so perverted by the culture of corruption it is safer for them to bully and pounce on the victim rather than confront criminal perpetrators that can hit back at them.........

Leona Helmsleys' Maltese Dog Trouble

Doggone it Leona Helmsleys’ Maltese dog Trouble is in trouble financially. The poor bitch well, actually she is not exactly poor because she is still a millionaire when a Manhattan judge quietly reduced her $12million trust fund to $2million with the $10million going to Leona Helmsley's charity foundation. Trouble is living in Florida with Carl Lekic, the general manager of the Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel.

In an affidavit, Lekic says Trouble appears to be very happy in her new permanent home and is doing well in all respects, and the extra cash wouldn't buy her more happiness.

"Two million dollars . . . would be enough money to pay for Trouble's maintenance and welfare at the highest standards of care for more than 10 years, which is more that twice her reasonably anticipated life expectancy," he said.

Dang, life indeed is going to the dogs considering what this mutt spends on food alone is enough to make 1.9 million Filipino families desperately feel sorry for themselves that will take them more than 3 years to earn, earning a measly income of $1 a day.

The late Leona Helmsley dubbed as the Queen of Mean by the press is also known to be friends with wanna be Queen Imelda Marcos the bitter errr better half of the late strong man Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines.

Anyway, Trouble is the only dog or should we say life's a bitch for her that gets in trouble receiving death threats and being sued by her former caretaker and Leona Helmsley's ex-housekeeper Zamfira Sfara, 48 for "mauling" she claims she got from that sweet pooch repeatedly back in 2004.

Oh that bitch in the picture is not Trouble but some mutt that looks like her so in case the Abu Sayyaf Group (an alleged creation of the Philippine Military according to some people) are planning a kidnap for ransom scheme, sorry wrong bitch. On the other hand those ASG animals should just stick to abducting dogs but not the Maltese though. Since they act like dogs on heat when they get the animal urge to rape their victims, might as well do it with their own kind....... those trained to fight nasty Pitt Bull is a good match.
