Among Ed and ATM JOURNALISM.

It has been extremely a rarity that a leader of such charisma; moral strength and the capacity to reach out for what is right, in the person of Among Ed, has come to serve us through the portals of government service.

Among Ed, like a drop of rain into a land, long turned arid by the apathy, greed and corruption of those who were entrusted to serve the people of Pampanga, was warmly received by his kabalens. His presence attracted not only the imagination of so many well-meaning Kapampangans to rally behind his cause but also Filipinos, of the same heart and mind, all over the Philippines and beyond.

As this man of cloth begun to wield the power of his elected office, he showed all-sundry how to walk the talk. He challenged the then-unquestioned but corrupt and inept system of political patronage in the province of Pampanga by demanding strict compliance with the law. He started to dismantle and up-root the foundation of transactional politics by upholding the rule of transparency in public service. The process to clean public service in Pampanga has begun.

It is not surprising that the moves of Among Ed send a chilling effect on the hearts of the greedy, the rapacious, the ambitious and the thieves among the elected officials in the provincial government. He was a threat to their source of livelihood and inordinate power. Like a pack of hungry piranhas, they ganged up on Among Ed and attempted to derail the direction of his moral crusade. Hiding behind a thin veneer for concern for law and their farcical interest for the welfare of the people of Pampanga, these bunch of predators in public office reveal their fraudulent design when they blocked every step Among Ed took towards good governance. Lately, amidst the threat of a planned special election to unseat him as the elected governor of Pampanga through the process of recall, these vultures with human faces unleashed a virulent media campaign to marginalize Among Ed.

Relying on the vile and duplicity of ATM journalism, the demolition job on Among Ed begun. Articles churned out by ATM journalists tended to turn INVISIBLE the achievements of Among Ed and his group this early. These articles criminalize the achievements of Among Ed as they try to hoodwink the public from the truth. Relying on baseless assumptions, they cast malicious doubts on the intentions of Among Ed and his volunteers. Many of these articles put a high premium on spurious complaints or issues of some quarters over the most distinguished exploits of Among Ed and the people working with him. Without let up, Among Ed is demonized whenever he took steadfast action in doing what is right or for refusing to do what is wrong, thereby sending a subliminal message to the public that doing what is right while in the government is an invitation to be crucified; that the rotten system of public service in Pampanga that turned many of their people and the province to penury could not be overcome; that in the end, our life in the Philippines is all about money, money and money.

But ATM journalism could not mislead ANYMORE the public to believe that it is a bearer of truth no matter who the journalist is. They are already aware that ATM journalism feeds on the aberration of truth. As monstrosities of the mind and heart, lies are more obnoxious than that of the body. Unmasked, ATM journalism could not persuade anymore our Kabalens to believe that Among Ed is a barren tree that bears no fruit, good only for fuel and is ought to be cut down. On the contrary, to the Kapampangans, Among Ed is their living champion for moral governance in public service. He is the human face of their inspiration in their crusade, along with their faith in themselves and in God, to defeat corruption in Pampanga in their lifetime. The people of Pampanga believe that, with Among Ed on the lead, they could now reclaim the honor, peace and prosperity that rightfully belong to the great province of Pampanga. The people of Pampanga know this and they also know they are not alone in this fight. All Filipinos of goodwill in the Philippines and the Filipinos in Diaspora are in this fight, too! They are intently watching what is happening in Pampanga. And all together, every one knows that the day is very near when they shall witness the coming of a new dawn not only in Pampanga but all over the
Movement for Free Philippinesarchipelago.

Until that day, our vigilance continues !
