URGENT ACTION: Pakistani Jirga Orders Murder of Couple

The Asian Human Rights Commission received information that a tribal leader of Sindh province has held three women and two children in his private jail and one woman has been continuously raped for more than three years. She has had two children whilst in custody. The Sindh High Court and the provincial police have been unable to recover the five persons from his jail. The tribal leader, in the meanwhile, held a Jirga, a parallel judicial system of feudal society, and announced the murder of a man. He and his wife were declared as Karo (black male) and Kari (black women). The Kari woman is currently under his illegal detention and might be murdered at any time. The feudal lord is so powerful that on one occasion when a police party went to recover the Kari woman the henchmen of the tribal chief detained the policemen for several hours and only released them after they gave assurances that they would not attempt to rescue the woman again.

CASE DETAILS:

According to the information received from the husband of the alleged Kari woman and the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, an NGO, Mukhtar Bibi alias Begum, 26, was married to one Ghulam Mustafa Mugheri, a resident of Korangi Industrial area, Karachi, in the year 2005, as his second wife. Ms. Mukhtar Bibi was divorced by her first husband for not being able to bear children, the mother and maternal uncles persuaded Mr. Mugheri to marry her according to the instructions of Islam. Ms. Bibi’s father, Haji Mashooq Chandio, was in those days in jail in Saudi Arabia on charges of smuggling drugs. However, he was released on Sept 17, 2005 and returned to Pakistan. At that time he was totally broke and started black mailing his son-in-law. Mr. Mugheri somehow managed to pay the initial financial demands but being a worker at a tea company he could not continue to pay the huge amounts of money.

Mr. Haji Mashooq Chandio, enlisted the help of his tribal chief, Mr. Sardar Ahmed Chandio, and with the connivance of his henchmen on January 7, 2006, abducted Mr. Mugheri’s first wife,Mst. Gul Khatoon, 32years, his 60 years old mother, Mst. Hameeda allies Subhana Umri, his 9 year-old niece Ms. Zameera Umri and his 8 years old son, from his first wife, Master Menthar.

They have since been in the private custody of Sardar Chandio and police have been powerless to recover them from this powerful person. It is alleged in a police report filed by Mr. Mugheri that Haji Mashooq sold Ms. Gul Khatoon, Mr. Mugheri’s first wife to the tribal leader of the Chandio tribe, Mr. Sardar Ahmed Chandio. Whilst in detention Ms. Khatoon has been continuously raped and has born two children as a result.

Finding no way out of his financial problems, on August 23, 2009,Mashooq Chandio, the father-in-law, went to Mr. Mugheri’s house in Mehran Town, Korangi along with six persons, and kidnapped his second wife, Ms. Mukhtar Bibi, at gun point. They were riding in a black-coloured Alto car and a yellow cab. After some days, Mugheri went to his father-in-law’s house in Jamshoro district, along with a copy of the Holy Quran and his 9-day-old son, and requested his father-in-law to hand over his wife but he refused. On Sept 27, 2009, Mugheri filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) for the recovery of his wife, following which the honorable court ordered police to raid his father-in-law’s house and recover his wife. On October 5, 2009, the High Court ordered the Nazir, the court search officer, to recover Mukhtar Bibi and search the places of tribal chief of Chandio tribe. Before the court and police officials reach the place the Mukhtar Bibi was shifted to another location. The police learned that the victim, Mukhtar Bibi is alive and with Sardar Ahmed Chandio, the tribal chief, who was currently in Saudi Arabia. After that court did not take action.

Then on October 14, the tribal chief, Sardar Chandio, held a Jirga, an illegal court and declared that both, Mr. Mugheri and his second wife, Ms. Mukhtar Bibi, should be murdered in the name of honour as they are Karo and Kari. Before the holding of the Jirga, his father-in-law, Mr. Mashooq Chandio and the henchmen of Sardar Chandio on October 12, tried to abduct Mr. Mugheri from the premises of Sindh High Court Karachi, but the police saved him and gave him shelter in one of the rooms of the court.

Mr. Mugheri tried several times to take help from the police and the court and at last was successful in getting the attention of the Deputy Inspector of Police (DIG), Karo-Kari cell and recorded his statement under section 154 CrPc. The DIG sent a team under Ms. Soobia, the head of the Karo Kai cell, recently made by Sindh government. The team went to recover Ms. Mukhtar Bibi but came under attack by the henchmen of the tribal chief and two police officials were abducted and made hostages. After several hours the police officials were released on the assurance that they will make another attempt to rescue Bibi.

Subsequently the police have arrested two of the alleged abductors out of 12 persons but have not been able to recover the three women and two minors.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Sindh high court is the highest judicial institution of the province of Sindh but because of its weakness to implement the rule of law the powerful groups, particularly feudal and tribal leaders enjoy impunity through their use of power. In 2004, the former chief justice of the Sindh high court has declared Jirga judicial system as illegal, ultra virus and unconstitutional but feudal and tribal lords know the writ of the high court. With regard to this of abduction and illegal detention the High Court has proved itself the weakest institution for the recovery of the five persons being held.

SUGGESTED ACTION:

Please write letters to the authorities urging them to recover three women and two minors from the private custody of the tribal chief of Chandio tribe and punish all the perpetrators keeping them in illegal detention at private jail and holding illegal court for murder of innocent people. Please also demand from the government to save the couple particularly Ms. Mukhat Bibi from murder on the pretext of honour killings.

The AHRC writes letters to the UN special rapporteur on the question of arbitrary arrest, violence against women and torture calling for their intervention in to this case.

I am writing to voice my deep concern regarding the alleged illegal detention of three women and two minors in the private jail of a tribal leader, Mr. Sardar Ahmed Chandio. The two women, Ms. Gul Khatoon and Ms.Hameeda, 60 years and two minors have been detained in a private jail since January 7, 2006.

During the period of continuous illegal detention Ms.Gul Khatoon was raped and has born two children as a result. Another woman, Ms. Mukhar Bibi was also abducted on August 23, 2009 and is being held in the same private jail.

I am shocked to know that the courts and police have done nothing to obtain the release of the women and minor and the powerful people are allowed to run private jails without any legal basis. It shows that the rule of law is totally broken in a country where the judiciary claims itself as an independent judiciary.

This is the situation of the rule of law in rural areas of the country where writ of the state is minimized and powerful people enjoy the fragile situation of the writ of the state. The High Court of the province has proved itself a subordinate of tribal leaders.

I urge you to recover the three women and two children from the custody of tribal leaders and their henchmen and prosecute the perpetrators including the police officials of the Qamber district, Sindh. An inquiry into the affairs of holding private jails in Sindh province must be conducted. The case of rape during illegal detention be lodged against the perpetrators.

Khamisa Sawadi, 75 yr. old widow meted 40 lashes by Religious Police in Saudi Arabia

It sure is hell to be a woman and a “foreigner” in Saudi Arabia where religious police acting on “citizen information” that the widow mingled with 2 young men who despite one of the men (Fahd al-Anzi) who is actually a nephew of her late husband and his wet nurse when he was a baby was supposedly not her “immediate relation” and deemed to have committed a crime against “sharia morality.”

There are prude people and there are morons who interpret morality in their demented ways that they are beyond help posing a danger to others in their barbaric disposition. The poor old woman Khamisa Sawadi being a widow just like all the women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to travel alone or drive and with her 2 daughters who are married and living away from her how do they expect her to live? Do they expect the 72 virgins in heaven to drop her basic necessities like 5 loaves of bread that she asked her late husband nephew to buy for her to materialize out of the desert? The poor zap Fahd al-Anzi together with business partner Hadiyan bin Zein in doing a good deed for an old widow should have been given brownie points but not so according to the moronic religious foolish errr police who arrested the duo together with the widow finding them “guilty” of “immoral acts” sentenced to jail terms and lashes.

Khamisa Sawadi used to ask her neighbors to buy for her foods and basic necessities after her husband died, I wonder if these “citizen informant” who I supposed was one of her neighbors was not happy at seeing other people do the errands for her. Like a village idiot of the gossiper dirty minded type concocted and imputed malicious dirty sexual fantasies which the religious police of the same frame of dirty mind bought lock stock and barrel.

Now that is sick, jail term and 40 lashes is what she deserves according to the religious police and to further inflict their cruelty that is if she survives and not die after the lashing she is to be deported back to Syria even though her late husband is Saudi Arabian. What are these morons thinking or are they brain dead meting such harsh and horrible punishment the widow and the men don’t deserve. There is this image of a young woman 20 days after 50 lashing that is too graphic to post here tells you the kind of physical violence that are inflicted by these unthinking idiots so you can just imagine the fatal consequence it will do to a 75 year old woman.

I have always thought that the media in the Philippines is bad but this one tops them all and probably explains why religious police barbaric monstrosity thrives:

Girl gets a year in jail, 100 lashes for adultery

JEDDAH – A 23-year-old unmarried woman was awarded one-year prison term and 100 lashes for committing adultery and trying to abort the resultant fetus.

The District Court in Jeddah pronounced the verdict on Saturday after the girl confessed that she had a forced sexual intercourse with a man who had offered her a ride. The man, the girl confessed, took her to a rest house, east of Jeddah, where he and four of friends assaulted her all night long.

The girl claimed that she became pregnant soon after and went to King Fahd Hospital for Armed Forces in an attempt to carry out an abortion. She was eight weeks’ pregnant then, the hospital confirmed.

According to the ruling, the woman will be sent to a jail outside Jeddah to spend her time and will be lashed after delivery of her baby who will take the mother’s last name. – Okaz/SG

Awarded? What in the name of Osama Bin Laden’s cavorting 72 virgins was that all about? Oh geez, the lucky woman just got “awarded” the coveted lashing as if this is a bondage fetish guilty beyond reasonable doubt for confessing the “crime” of being raped.

At least not all the media people in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia thinks and write like this numb nut at Saudi Gazzete with the likes of Saudi journalist Bandar al-Ammar, in Al-Watan who felt the need to report the case "so everybody knows to what degree we have reached."

A saudi doctor and columnist also wrote in Al-Watan questioning the verdict against the widow Khamisa Sawadi and the 2 men based purely on suspicion are misusing religion to serve their interest.

The religious Police are a special police unit called the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice tasked at enforcing laws according to their own interpretation of Islamic laws. They patrol public places to make sure women are covered and not wearing make up, sexes don't mix, shops close five times a day for Muslim prayers and men go to the mosque to worship. Saudi Arabia's strict interpretation of Islam prohibits men and women who are not immediate relatives from mingling and women from driving. The playing of music, dancing and many movies also are a concern for hard-liners who believe they violate religious and moral values.

On a positive note the Saudi king dismissed the chief of the religious police and a cleric who condoned killing of TV network owners that broadcast "immoral content," is this a sign of a shake-up signaling an effort to weaken the kingdom's hard-line Sunni Muslim establishment? Maybe it is but maybe not so if you want to do something to prevent the injustice, join the Women Living Under Muslim Laws (WLUML) international solidarity network and its allies in demanding that Saudi Arabia demonstrate its commitment to human rights and release Khamisa Sawadi, Fahd al-Anzi, and Hadiyan bin Zein and revoke the order of deportation by clicking here, cut, paste and email the letter to the Saudi authorities.

Spread Some Love on Valentines Day to Terrorist Queens

Ok, I realized that celebrating Valentines Day is not exactly halal (permitted in Islam) but haaram (totally forbidden in Islam) for the fundamentalist Islamic Jihads. The pagan origins of Valentines Day as expounded by the Islamic Thinkers Society presented a strong case against the celebration for Muslims but for non-Muslims now that it has evolved with the modern times that should not stop us from celebrating the occasion. We are living in modern times and not in the medieval times and yet there are those rigid fundamentalist who desperately tries to turn back time which is alright since that is their religious belief. That is still their choice and who are we to impose what is right and wrong but on the other hand who are they to force us infidels to follow their retrogression. Ok, before we get carried away this is not about whether Valentines Day is Halal (permitted in Islam) or Haram (prohibited in Islam) but about spreading love on Valentines Day.

So in keeping with the celebration it is just fitting to spread some love on Valentines Day to Terrorist Queens because sex is sadaqa (an act of voluntary kindness pleasing to God). Saqada as in sex between married couples and not "hetersosexual" men gang raping another man, boys, women or little girls that is just so wrong on all levels. The Political Jaywalker normally does not endorse products but since it is Valentines day we can make an exception. There is a Muslim sex shop where you can buy your love one a gift, an underwear with halal (permitted in Islam) printed in front, flip it over and it says haram (forbidden in Islam).... take note terrorist 'queenies" backdoor entry is forbidden.

For your neighborhood Jihad terrorist there is one item that is getting viral, that even Jay Leno featured in his Stuff we found on EBay portion and getting tremendous hits. Men raping men especially heterosexual men or so they think they are, gang raping another man, or a boy is as perverted as it gets, especially when they do it on their own people of the same faith. A faith that treats seeing a woman’s' bare neck or any part of their body part as sinful and yet gets turned on with their same sex behind is just bizarre that defies any logical explanation. The sexual act on young recruits aged between 16 to 19 was a means to urge them to commit suicide operations.”

A 22-year-old had suffered sexual injuries before being shot dead on a suicide mission in Tademaït, Algeria, three weeks ago. Samples taken from his body are being analysed in a bid to identify his torturer.

Now, that is sick and truly perverted no matter how you look at it, but if you think you have seen the worse a 51 year old Grannie by day named Samira Jassim known as 'Um al-Mumenin', (mother of the believers) tops them all acting as suicide bombers pimp and madam on the side.

According to Major General Qassim Atta, Samira Jassim, a.k.a. 'Um al-Mumenin', with allege link to Ansar al Sunnah unsurgent group was arrested by Iraqi authorities on January 21st 2009 was responsible for recruiting 80 women. Atta announced Jassim’s confession on her responsibility where she confirmed 28 attempts had been made by her recruits in one of the terrorist strongholds. Below is from the same news source:

Gay sex it is not because rape is not about having sex but forcing oneself on unwilling victims but then again in a society where some form of rape is culturally sanctioned such as marrying off their minor children to men at times as old as their grandfather where do they draw the line?

Rape not only humiliates the victims but the psychological wounds it inflicts run deep and to say that the social stigma it creates is an understatement, enough to drive one to be suicidal. In a society where “honor” seems to have more weight that life itself, except it always involve someone else's life to defend their honor as in the possibility of a deranged relative killing the victim in the name of honor killing. Where do they go and how do they cleanse themselves of the shame and dishonor? So what happens when victims are facing the risk of being handed down a verdict of stoning to death for adultery or the young men and boys victims of gang rape from pervert Jihads for homosexuality by hanging? Victims are in a predicament that leaves them little room if any or motivation to get on with their normal lives. Easy pickings for suicide bomber pimps like Samira Jassim with a “little” encouragement and “mentoring” on the art of killing oneself while taking others with them. It is a sick, sick world out there indeed these people live in and on that account the sociologist view seems to have an edge when they say that the environment plays a role in rape.


The bigger problem is not how the liberals will react to this newly found perversion as the Gay conservative/patriot seems to be fixated on but on how these will be treated by the west in lieu of the ongoing war raging in that part of the globe. The problem of extremism using religion as a means to grab political power and now the use of rape added to the arsenal of deranged Jihads truly present a real challenge for peace loving people the world over.

Illegal Filipino Migrant Street Children in Sabah, Malaysia

In Malaysia illegal Filipino migrants are not supposed to have children but of course they do anyway according to Al Jazeera's David Hawkins. So what happens when illegal Filipino migrant pro-creates? A societal, political, and moral dilemma ensues thus Illegal Filipino Migrant Street Children in Sabah, Malaysia are added in the mix of the under belly of a surreal yet mind boggling realities of harsh life for the unwanted. These are mostly Christian Filipinos who are probably unaware or ignorant that there are birth control pills or other device to avoid unwanted pregnancy. It is not certain or do we want to go there if the strong influence of Talibani pro-choice Catholic Bishops and their fanatic lay leaders and supporters whose mission in life is to encourage their flock to fulfill their biblical obligation of go and pro-create has somehow had any influence in this miserable life they have condemned these innocent migrant Filipino children.

Ok, there are the natural methods such as abstention that the pro-lifers and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo the Philippine president with questionable Garcified tenure champions, but knowing they are not in a position and the consequence of bringing in a child in a not so foreign land (Sabah is owned by the Sultanate of Sulu thus the Philippines has a claim to this territory) where being born to an illegal makes the offspring also illegal. These are contentious issues that sadly may stay with us for a long time and until leaders of these 2 nations and society come up with a resolution, Filipino migrant children are exposed to the most dehumanizing existence early on in life with no bright prospect for their future.

While most of the migrant children are legal there are those unlucky ones that were born to illegal Filipino migrant workers. Those who did not have a say on where they should be born much less have a choice on who brings them out to this "wonderful" world find themselves with no access or right to health and education. The “lucky” ones (if you consider being able to afford the school yet stateless as lucky) are sent to private schools by illegal migrant parents who can afford it but most are not so lucky as if their complicated situation of having no legal identity or documentation is not enough are out living on the street trying to survive in a place where they are not welcome and seen as a strain to the territories resources.

This is what Yong Tek Lee, former Minister of Sabah has to say about the migrant street children:

Most of them would have come from broken families, uh…. single mother or just orphan. This is a bigger group and more difficult to integrate and politically a very sensitive subject….. for Malaysians to spend their resources on this group of immigrant children.

In fairness to Yong Tek Lee the quote maybe out of context or too short to really know how he sees the problem. True, some may have been from broken families but the question is how many of those are from broken families and those that have been separated due to their parents getting caught and deported back to the Philippines? Since they have been orphaned and with no help coming from the Malaysian government where half of the populations in Sabah are immigrants they are of course not in a position to give assistance to the “illegal” migrant children who end up in the streets of Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah. Indeed a strain to Sabahs resources and since they are stateless children with no legal personality to begin with no assistance is forthcoming on children that does not officially or legally exist. What is puzzling is when Yong Tok Lee talks about integration.... really integration? The reason why the children are homeless and living on the street is not by accident is it not? Who are we kidding here or is this another one of those political double talk? How can Lee talk of integration when the children are denied citizenship from the place they are born (Sabah) and due to their "illegal status" are denied access to education, health care and other assistance that are available to citizens of Sabah. No, Yong Tok Lee quit blabbering nonsense about integration when you know very well that denying these children citizenship is all about treating them like sub humans.

It makes matter even worse than hell when the Philippine government do not recognize these children as Filipino citizens either and are not willing to take them back. Yet, the Philippines put up a façade of welcome and making sure they protect the rights of embezzlers, crooks in politicians clothing, jueteng lords and all kinds of Mafiosi type criminal syndicates lording over the political outcome of fraudulent elections and other dregs of society that managed to scheme their way to the corridors of the high and mighty while we deny that these stateless migrant street children even exist.

These children end up in the streets and form a gang for survival while some young girls turn to prostitution preyed upon by sick bastard pedophiles. It does not help when the mindset of those who are supposed to look after their welfare have so much disdain for these disposable street children as seen in this remark by Anne Keyworth a social worker:

Some of them the orphans who ….uh abandoned… because their parents have gone back to the Philippines…. So they have a big brother…. Yeah, so they have to earn a certain amount for the big brother… but then their welfare are not taken care of….

I don’t know about the expression of this social worker but I fail to see a hint of compassion but then again maybe it is just how she projects herself on television. Somehow it gives you a feeling that her mindset was that of one who don't see the need to assist these street children because under Malaysian law they don't exist. The big brother of course are their pimps who preys on these vulnerable little girls all alone abandoned to fend for themselves in what society has relegated them into a life of wretched misery. A life if you can call that life in this day and age where she has no capacity to comprehend in a society that denies them education or even acknowledge that they exist. Imagine if these were your kids, your niece, cousin, son, daughter, brother, sister or grand kids you probably will move heaven and earth to rescue them from that miserable inhumane existence....... but we don't know them, not until you become aware of them. Should we just treat their sad miserable wretched inhumane existences as out of sight out of mind, toss it away and it's gone? Are the OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) who are considered the modern day heroes and savior of the Philippine mismanaged economy are just good as milking cow for the dollar they bring in and yet we deny their offspring exist, not Filipino worthy enough to be a Citizen of the Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's strong Republic?

Today is World Toilet Day and Ayman al-Zawahri the Al Qaeda Deputy Stinker is feeling down and lonely who is clearly on the wrong side of history thus he wants the world’s attention. What a fitting moment to rant and rave in time for the World Toilet Day like a stinker that should be flushed down, an excrement of history,. Well, what are we waiting for, flush the big stinker with his big boss Osama Bin Laden where they belong.

While people celebrate the historic moment of America’s triumph in a journey of hope and change so infectious that people the world over celebrates in awe of the milestone Ayman al-Zawahri in contrast is on a temper tantrum like a low life that he is insulting the gains of democracy. Here is a quote from the LA Times report:

In al Qaeda's first response to Obama's victory, al-Zawahri also called the president-elect -- along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice -- "house negroes."

Speaking in Arabic, al-Zawahri uses the term "abeed al-beit," which literally translates as "house slaves." But al Qaeda supplied English subtitles of his speech that included the translation as "house negroes."

Ayman al Zawahri the Al Qaeda Deputy Stinker is really sounding more like the bitter ultra religious right who can’t wait till Barack Obama to be formally inducted, like a sour loser cretin goes on a ranting rampage like a fool.

The fool is on a delusional bout thinking that Obama's win was an "open admission of defeat in Iraq" according to the LA Times report...... here's a clue toilet boy..... IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID! Now what's up with the extremist on both sides, they seem to define victory and defeat according to their reality...... the last time I checked Al Qaeda is still on the run with their farcical errr fanatical "holy warriors" hiding in caves and they say they are winning.
