Grace Walker, a commissioner of the host Glendale Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), informs that it would be a milestone event to recognize the two women's outstanding achievements as well as to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the commission.
Commissioner Walker, who co-chairs the event with Commissioner Marie Lernelle, said that there's "a need to exhort more Asians to be active in the community and apply for both elected and appointed positions."
Speaker of the California State Assembly Karen Bass will be keynote speaker of the Thursday morning event at Anoush Banquet Hall, 1320 W. Glenoaks Blvd. Molly Barker, founder of the Girls on the Run International, had also been invited to speak. Denise Dador, health specialist of ABC-7 Eyewitness News, will be the emcee.
