Time to charge Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda for Plunder, Among ED

There is a petition going the rounds on a complaint-affidavit filed by Pampanga Governor Eddie “Among Ed” Panlilio with the Ombudsman. What are the chances of Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda whose anak ng jueteng errrr son Pampanga Mayors League President Dennis Pineda has the President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo no less calls as godmother even is indicted? I say it will be an insurmountable challenge but nevertheless nothing is impossible especially if a considerable number of people stood their ground.

That said there is this blogger named Toto Gonzales in his Desconocidos article whatever that means has a very interesting take on a jueteng lord which he did not identify but seemingly very familiarly identified, to quote:
A most interesting “desconocido” is a secondary gambling lord in Central Luzon. “No read, no write.” How he managed to rise through the ranks to almost trump his boss, The Ultimate Lord, is anyone’s guess. He has accumulated a fortune in the Php billions through the usually derided numbers game. He built an immense Corinthian Gardens-style mansion, complete with helipad, on one hectare of gardens on the outskirts of the provincial capital. His wife spends her days attended by a retinue of staff, expensively tutored by mentors in the art of living, selecting jewelry from the Manila jewelers that visit the mansion daily, and choosing expensive furniture, Persian rugs, and European decorative accessories from the decorators and interior designers that also call at the mansion daily. He has managed to parlay his large fortune into legitimate, lucrative businesses like hospitals, hotels, and resorts. However, he has a philanthropic streak and is particularly supportive of priests, nuns, students, and sick people.

Hmmmmnnn, it seems when you have plenty of dinero you are god no matter where that came from and with morally starved characters out to please a criminal for profit truly shows this society is going to the dumps. Anyway, Pedestrian Observer GB supports the petition and just to prove manay errr manoy oppositionist Ernie Maceda wrong on how he describes Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez, to quote:

Pity, Pity. Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez is crying that criticisms hurled at her by Ombudsman officials are a “smear drive.”

Among the criticisms: Weak cases are being filed and the conviction rate has gone down to 14 percent under her from 77 percent under her predecessor Simeon Marcelo. That can’t be a smear because it’s a matter of record.

Her questionable action on the Comelec counting machines scandal ordered to be investigated by the Supreme Court, her delay in acting on the Nani Perez $2 million Swiss deposit, the Joc-Joc Bolante fertilizer scam, the many cases of corruption in the AFP, and many more, are also on record.

The one-time bar flunker’s incompetence is showing. This is further proven by her request for time to answer the criticisms against her. A competent Ombudsman would have been able to issue a rebuttal in one day’s time.

Big Miss Puppet, your slip is showing. Kawawa ka naman.

Hopefully, as we sign the petition we can also relay the message to Merceditas Gutierrez that we are behind her if she indict Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda and that she can do her job diligently, gee talk about reverse psychology. What are the chances of this flying? Not a lot but it's worth a try.

Well, let us look at this from a half full glass perspective but it can be better if we also urge our liemakers errr lawmakers to pass legislation similar to that of the U.S. RICO Act (RACKETEER INFLUENCED AND CORRUPT ORGANIZATIONS) to pursue jueteng lords confiscating whatever they own or have established using funds from their criminal activities.

Since we don’t have it yet, maybe teaming up with the BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) should be in order except for one minor problem, they are perceived as the most corrupt agency and the chances of them being bought cannot be ignored. But then again are we going to stay by the sidelines or must we support Pampanga Governor “Among Ed” Panlilio instead just to see if indeed there is still hope in the land of cheats? A challenge indeed almost an impossible dream to say the least but that is the only thing that we can cling on in a nation where corruption is so endemic so we either act on our dream or forever whine and complain……………… there just go sign the petition and you will feel better, I know I did.
