Lintang Bedol Contempt Sentence Angers Solons

Amita Legazpi of GMANews.tv reported on Bedol’s “failure” to post bail, will spend night at the Comelec instead of the Manila city jail all because the commissioners “failed to meet” on the specified time for the bail motion consultation. It seems that the uproar by some solons on the “light” (do they want a death penalty for indirect contempt?) sentence may just trigger another “angry” stance from comelected politicians of not seeing the leech errr Lintang Bedol free lodging at the jail.

This indirect contempt is getting to be very interesting with Bedol’s lieyer errr lawyer raising the legal issue of questioning the jurisdiction of the comelec panel. I say such action and legal mumbo jumbo should earn Bedol and his lawyer another contempt sentence should the judicial court they submitted their legal question concur with the comelec.

This is a side circus and I would not be jumping in joy and happiness at seeing Bedol finally getting what he deserves for insubordination and open defiance complete with bragging of his arsenal like a typical warlord that bows to no one.

While I tend to agree with the solons that fraud is the issue, Bedol’s contempt should be dealt with accordingly and not linger on as a side freak show that will veer the issue away from electoral fraud and Musa Dimasidsing’s murder. "Bravo" to this newly comelected senators like Escudero who I quote from an Inquirer article:

Sen. Francis Escudero pointed out that the Comelec had penalized Bedol merely for his nonappearance before the commission en banc.

“What about the things he did and did not do in his responsibility as a Comelec official?” said Escudero.

Ok, bravo unto you Mr. Senator but it was clear that Bedol was sentenced on 4 counts of contempt based on the following “acts and omissions” as reported by the same Inquirer article:

  • Failure to attend the scheduled canvassing of Maguindanao’s provincial CoCs (certificates of canvass) on May 22, and the rescheduled canvassing on May 30.
  • Failure to attend the Task Force Maguindanao hearing on June 14.
  • Refusal to submit a written explanation for his absences and the unlawful assumption of custody of the Maguindanao municipal CoCs and other accountable election documents used in the May elections that should have been delivered to the Comelec main office in Manila.
  • His “plain admission” that the documents were lost while in his custody, and his media pronouncements “flaunting disrespect [for] the authority of the Comelec over him,” challenging the institution to file a case against him in court, “regaling the public through the media ... with a boast of possession of an armory of long firearms and sidearms, displaying in public for all to see in his front-page colored portrait in a national broadsheet and during a television interview.”

The Comelec used as evidence against Bedol the June 26 front-page story of the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoting him as saying that he would face his accusers only in court, and its accompanying photo showing him with a pistol strapped to his waist.

Enough of the grandstanding and attention seeking stance please……. I sure would like to see our “leaders” reserve their energy on ferreting out the truth and gathering evidence on the murder of Musa Dimasidsing and the Maguindanao electoral anomalies so as not to give the weasels at the comelec a reason not to pursue their investigation for “lack of evidence”. Yeah right, they can shout and have a tantrum that only angers and incite the people but just the same may turn out to be plain hollow grandstanding of attention seeking political personalities. No wonder justice sucks in the land of cheats where we see that the decision was on the issue of contempt and they want Bedol sentenced on electoral fraud….. Geeez don’t they get it?

If these leaders have not allowed Garci to make a mockery of the electoral process when they had a chance we would not have a bedol to contend with…… Also what's up with whoever that genius commissioner who said that said punishment for a "high official" such as Bedol even with a day in jail is humiliating enough only shows that justice is selective in the land of cheats. They just showed their true intent in citing Bedol for contempt was not about the law but their inflated ego and power trip. Don't they get it....... a lowly flying voter (although I believe they are not in demand anymore as in the past owing to the ability of cheats with guns to force the teachers to fill up the ballots and stash the same in the ballot boxes seems to be the name of the "game") or a commisioner should be treated the same in accordance with what the penalties prescribed by the law on the criminal acts one is found guity of committing.

Lisa Hontiveros an Akbayan representative would want to impeach Abalos which I think should have been done a long time ago. If she is intent on doing so, she should include all the commissioners. These body has time and again failed the people. The only way to make the electoral process credible is to seriously look into abolishing the present electoral system and start anew on a clean slate.

Let me end this with a quote from Fidel Umaga's comment on the earlier entry titled Leech errr Lintang Bedol Gets Jail Time and Fine!:

Consider briefly the major issues against the latest member of Malacanang's TEFLON GANG, firstly, Bedol allegedly lost the first copy of the COC from maguindanao that allows the Comelec to use secondary evidence and paves the way for the shaving of KoKO Pimentel's advantage against Migs Zubiri and the latters eventual proclamation by Comelec as the 12th winning senator during the last election and secondly, by exhibiting such highly contumacious act before a quasi-judicial body. These acts were CLEAR and AUDACIOUS travesty of the law, committed by a provincial Comelec offcial. Yet the government response to them is no different from having caught a thief who after having broken into a home, committed rape while in the course of his robbery and escape with some valuables of his victim. When caught, the police made a big media event about the thief being caught and later sent to prison for the theft but made no mention about the rape . When asked about the rape, the authorities evaded the querry by saying; Sir, iba yung rape kaysa theft or robbery!

In Lindang Bedol's situation, the crime of election fraud is naturally different from the case of contempt against him but what is the government doing about this fraud?

Another Hello Garci being shoved down our throats?Once more, the public grievance is being addressed under the doctrine of the RULE BY LAW and not by the RULE OF LAW.

The tragedy of them all is that while the authorities seem to be aware that we know that they are trying to pull our legs, the charade continues because it appears that everything is ok to all sundry!

No wonder, tuloy pa rin ang patayan at abduction sa ating paligid!

Leech errr Lintang Bedol Gets Jail Time and Fine!

Yahoo! Is this for real? Am I seeing things or is this an error……. I can’t believe what I am seeing but this report by Veronica Uy of Inquirer titled “Maguindanao poll exec gets 6 months in jail, P1,000 fine” should get us jumping with joy. Wow, that was quick in a nation known for turtle speed phase there it is, the Tongelec errr Comelec seems to get their act together.

Leech errr Lintang Bedol was sentenced for indirect contempt, hah and this is for openly daring the Comelec to come and get him showing off his arsenal in open contempt at his superiors.

Will he go to jail? Maybe not, his bail was set at P15K or he goes to jail if can’t post it by Tuesday according to the report.

Bedol bragged that he was giving himself another 10 years at the comelec but with the sentenced will he still stay with the comelec for another agonizing 10 years? Should the comelec also not dismiss him for insubordination? I have seen the video interview where he was so defiantly telling the reporter about his arsenal complete with a gun in his waist. What a gas this guy is.... but when he was at the hearing he was saying he only had 2 guns. Hopefully he gets what he deserves but knowing how justice grinds in the land of cheats I will have to control myself and not laugh at the guy just in case by any stroke of cheaters luck he may not serve any sentence once some powers that be decides they can't let their man down.

Well, it seems that when it comes to pricking the ego of his superiors they act swiftly…. If only they can do the same when it comes to investigating the anomalies in the electoral process itself then they may fish their credibility out of the toilet. How about it konsomisyoners errr commissioners when will we see the same vigor in the Koko Pimentel case?

The Gentle Man from Maguindanao

From now on, every time Migz Zubiri, the gentleman from Maguindanao, stands up in the Senate the people will be reminded that someone very much like him though of the opposite gender is illegitimately ensconced somewhere by the stinking Pasig.

Last Monday (July 30) Koko Pimentel filed his electoral protest with the Senate Electoral Tribunal.

Koko Pimentel was leading Migz Zubiri all the way until the Comelec Commissioners acting on orders from way above the cheating food chain intervened. While it may apparently seem that the protest is just about contesting the 12th Senate slot in the last elections, the stakes are really much more than that.

The country witnessed a most blatant manipulation of the vote thus frustrating the people's will and seating a Comelected Migz Zubiri in the halls of the Senate. While everything seems outwardly calm this wholesale subversion of the citizens electoral will could be a slow fused bomb that could bring the whole house of cards down - the proverbial last straw that broke the camels back.

The initial Maguindanao count showed Chavit Singson as the topnotch and the vote manipulators in their rush to pad the votes may have unwittingly replaced him with Migz Zubiri in the top slot. The inconsistent padding also ended up in most cases with votes cast exceeding registered counts and a voting turnout that far exceeded national norms. During the re-canvass of the Maguindanao COC's which were already tainted with irregularity (being sole and unverifiable copies), the comelectioneers went for broke and ignored all questions and challenges to the veracity of their canvass.

The forced inclusion of Zubiri in the Senate exposed the COMELEC commissioners in their full rotten glory and dramatically reminded the nation of the 2004 cheating scandal and the Garci tapes. More so this assinine experience inflicted severe collateral damage on the Supreme Court with that pontius pilate 7-7 decision in the TRO filing of Koko Pimentel. And with the national leadership overtly tolerant if not an active partisan in this aberrant political anomaly, with the major custodian of public electoral choice thoroughlycompromised, with the principal arbiter of the rule of law in quandary and confusion, the alternatives for redress of grievances is increasingly becoming a very short list. And sometimes short lists may translate easily into short fuses.

To start with the Maguindanao elections was already suspect. Teachers complained of intimidation and harassment by political operators. According to them armed men wrote and stuffed ballots to ensure a 12-0 vote for the administration slate while they watched in captive helplessness. Election watchdogs were also reportedly barred from the canvassing that is why both the PPCRV and the Namfrel never had any copy of the COC's which could have verified the sole COC 's that were later on canvassed by comelectioneers. The notorious Lintang Bedol a confessed Garci friend magically appeared and dissappeared at will finally claiming that he lost all copies of the Maguindanao COC's. This paved the way for the unverifiable Comelec canvass of the Maguindanao senatorial votes.

And then there was Musa Dumasidsing.

Disregarding safety, Musa Dumasidsing, a teacher and education supervisor in Pagalungan, Maguindanao reported irregularities during last month's elections. His surfacing confirmed massive cheating as earlier reported by teachers tasked to oversee the process. Dumasidsing despite severe pressure refused to sign documents which would have negated the early report of election irregularities. In a country where many hope against hope, he was seen as a new hero who fearlessly stepped up to the plate. On June 9 Dumasidsing was mercilessly gunned down no doubt to silence him forever about histale of the fraud-riddled Maguindanao elections. The three other witnesses who had worked with Dumasidsing have gone missing too. Just like many of us he only wanted the elections to be clean and honest and it had cost him his life. The cheats are definitely covering their tracks. Dumasidsing was killed to make an example, to intimidate those who intend to expose the fraud in Maguindanao.

If you make a scrabble play of the letters in 't e a c h e r ' you could spell out the word 'c h e a t e r'. But Dumasidsing the Teacher a noble tribute to his chosen vocation was never a Cheater. Dumasidsing came out not for himself and his death will be worthless if we disregard the final lesson that he imparted. With his martyrdom he has become indeed a true teacher to the nation and if Dumasidsing's life is not to be wasted, his killing should make everybody furiously indignant that the cheating efforts he opposed has temporarily gained the upperhand with the seating of a comelected Zubiri in the Senate.

If Migz Zubiri decides to carry on with his charade and protestations of innocence together with his pretensions to being a truly elected Senator, his first privilege speech should be about Musa Dumasidsing and a vigorous request for a full senate investigation of the circumstances of his death. Indeed, the true Gentle Man from Maguindanao was Musa Dumasidsing.

The Maguindanao election result, an un bedolable Story

WE OUGHT NOT TO FORGET!

The clear and present danger sign is blinking all over again and this time; it seems accompanied by the anguished wailing of a woman in pain.

No, I am not talking about a fire in the neighborhood but something worse than that. If my fear is right, what ever Abalos, Lintang Bedol and all that is wrong about the last election in Maguindanao had failed to do, selfish interests (as differentiated from self-interest) might have infected some of our elected ILUSTRADO leaders and won the day for the current administration. I meant to refer to the sudden emergence of Manny Villar, Chiz Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano and Francis Pangilinan as members of the MAJORITY PARTY at the New Senate. Villar appeared to coalesce with administration senators and convinced these three young senators to join him.

If I remember it right, these people rode on the crest of the people's rejection of and repugnance to the national policies of the sitting President. The people opted to express their strong disapproval to the current administration by rejecting almost all of its national candidates but for Ed Angara and Joker Arroyo, while Administration's local bets swamped the Opposition almost all over the country. Migs Zubiri's case is an exemption not because he, like Angara and Joker Arroyo, had been rewarded by the Filipino People with their affection. He was not. His stellar rise to national leadership seems to be by the grace (or disgrace) of the Comelec Chair, Abalos and his pawn, Lintang Bedol, the Emir of Maguindanao.

As the images of Villar and our 3 young and emerging political leaders, breaking bread with the administration senators at the Upper House, played in my mind, I could not help but recall what the imminent Filipino historian, Renato Constantino, said about one of the reasons why the Philippine revolution did not mature into fruition. He said, it was the copout of our Intellectual Class that did the Filipino revolution after we defeated our Iberian masters.

I have always learned to listen to what people say with a grain of salt as words are as easily given as fast as they are uttered. As my late father had said, SA ISANG MAY PAGKATAO, SAPAT NA ANG ISANG SALITA BAGAMAT ANG ISANG PAGKATAO AY HINDE NABUBUO SA SALITA LANG KUNDI SA GAWA. Indeed, what matters most is what one does with what comes out from one's mouth. But it is also true that to wait and see how these four would stand as Opposition senators while being members of the Majority Party in the Senate is no different from having Quezon, Osmena, Romulo et. al. to become part of the Japanese Puppet Government in the Philippines during the last war and STILL FEEL SAFE about the future of the Philippines during those times! For the Filipino People to simply maintain their trust in and allow these 4 senators to join the administration candidate after they accepted our trust and confidence when we elected them as Opposition Senators, is for us to agree to act like a moth that flies around a candle flame! It is a fool who locks his barn door ONLY after his horse was stolen.

Suddenly, it seemed to me that the brilliance of some stars in heaven has grown dimmed. Suddenly, I hope my fears this time are truly unfounded. But as we look back, do you think that Manny Villar et. al. could have inspired the Filipino People, as they earlier did, to go out of their way and be extra-vigilant during the last election had they told the public that they would join the Administration block in the Senate after the election? Do you think these 4 would still be able to garner their winning number of votes had they told the Filipino People that they would realign with the Administration after the election? Do we really believe that Escudero, Cayetano and Pangilinan are seasoned enough politicians to have the fortitude to withstand the largess from a dying regime that brooks at nothing and is willing to do anything if only to save its neck from the gallows of truth? Do they have that MATURITY AND CHARACTER to provide them sufficient strength and wisdom to discern and choose what is right for all OVER that which is merely good for the majority of our people? Do you think that the good intentions of Villar and most especially that of Escudero, Cayetano and Pangilinan, in joining the Administration block at the Senate, are sweet enough to erase the odious smell and almost acid taste left in the mouth of the Filipino People, who trusted them with their hope for a better Philippines, when they realigned with the Administration

block, whose minions, as of this writing, are still earnestly trying to move heaven and earth to impose their will on the whole nation?

What ever intentions prompted Villar, Escudero, Cayetano and Pangilinan to reached their decision, they owe the FILIPINO PEOPLE, who put them where they are now, a great deal of explanation why, in the light of a clear day, they realigned themselves with the administration senators! Many of our people went out of their way, exposing their lives and limbs to danger, if only to insure that the protest votes they gave these candidates during the last election could be counted. A number of these people were hurt and some were even killed during that exercise. By their blood and sacrifice, they have sanctified the results of the last election. For that matter alone, Villar et. al. should not trifle with what was entrusted to them by the Filipino people.

For Manny Villar, Chiz Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano and Francis Pangilinan, you should have learned a thing or so from your recent victory.

For the Filipino People, it is never too late to learn from our mistakes. WHAT EVER HAPPENS HEREAFTER, WE OUGHT NOT TO FORGET!!!!!!!

Crooks and scam artists and Ducky Paredes!

The saga continues on the issue of Koko and Migz with Ducky Paredes responding to Gil Ramos Open Letter through his article titled: The Comelec is just doing its job.

DUCKY PAREDES wrote:

I have a letter from the Movement for a Free Philippines that tells me, among other things, "as a former colleague in the Movement for a Free Philippines which fought the Marcos dictatorship I was expecting you to see the side of the Pimentels here – a family who played a significant part in that episode of our nation's history and not the side of the elitist dynasty like the Zubiris who were in bed with the Marcoses at that time."

I can only wonder if by having joined a movement, at one time in my life, I signed up for a permanent obligation to support everyone that the movement admires. Sorry. The world has changed and, anyway, as I remember, the Movement for a Free Philippines never really succeeded in bringing down Marcos or making the Philippines free.

As I recall, not a few of Marcos' friends and relatives did this for all of us! As for the card-carrying members of the movement, didn't several of them, after all, turn out to be crooks and scam artists? I met several of them at the time that I was in the cabinet.

Herewith is Gil Ramos response to Paredes titled; Crooks and scam artists and Ducky Paredes! You can also check out Fidel Umaga’s comment in this blog titled Cheating not Delicadeza to appreciate the ongoing discussion in hopefully helping us appreciate the underlying issues surrounding this fraudulent electoral contest.

Crooks and scam artist and Ducky Paredes!

It is unfortunate to see a respected columnist resort to ad hominem arguments just because he could not find an adequate rejoinder to the issue being discussed. What the Ducky cavalierly dismissed as 'among other things' was the meat of the issue. There is a concerted effort right now in tri-media to prepare the Filipino people to accept the emergence of a Migs Zubiri as a COMELECTED senator. and huge amounts of money are flowing freely for those who would tow a beautifully crafted story line that since Nene Pimentel is already a senator to put another senator in who is his son is just too much. Nevermind that the people knew of this father and son relationship before hand and still chose Koko over Migs. Never mind that we have two topnotchers in those doubly counted manufactured Maguindanao votes substituting Migs for Chavit Singson just to get Migs in. Never mind that the COMELEC violated its own procedures to be able to re-canvass the sole copy of the only supposedly surviving copy of the seven copy municipal ceritificates of canvass. The Ducky had no answers to all these - so he avoids them and dismiss them 'as among other things'.

Ducky's most recent column talks about elections in general as the problem. In so doing he beautifully and, to be considerate, maybe unwittingly paraphrased a woman who said earlier that we have a fractured political culture anyway where everybody cheats. So it is the system that is wrong --- so let us chacha! She said she was sorry but she really meant that she was sorry she got caught. Again the issue is CHEATING - not delicadeza or political dynasties.

As I have already stated in the first letter sent to the Ducky - political dynasties cannot be legislated out of existence. Like the economic law of supply and demand it cannot be repealed by Congress and much more so by a toothless constitutional provision against political dynasties ( anecdotically Ramon Magsaysay supposedly ordered congress to do away with the law of supply and demand so that the price of galungong remains within the reach of the poor) .

The Bush'es and the Kennedy's are political dynasties in the US. However, in mature democracies like the United States the emergence of such dynasties get contained within bounds and does not spill over to excesses and abuse of power. In our case since our very own COMELEC insist on dylexic arithmetic where you see dag-dag bawas number inversions and where now you see zeros and now you don't - we are indeed a far cry from being a mature democracy.

The way to do away with the evil effects of political dynasties is to build strong political institutions and parties that will supply the nation with alternative leaders to choose from - who have credibility as well as the capability to win even if they are not born to dynastic privileges because strong political parties could support them. One such person who is attempting to build such party institutions is Nene Pimentel. And he was doing this even in the blighted years of martial law and he suffered greatly for it. To see Ducky foisting a cheap 'delicadeza' swindle on the valid CHEATING issues raised by Nene is quite disconcerting. And i have to remind the Ducky that while we were out safe and secure in Honolulu, HI demonstating against fraudulent Philippine elections in front of the Philippine Consulate under the protection of American civil laws Nene was going in and out of prison at that time. i never suggested that Ducky share my admiration of Nene. It was the idea and the concept of us being against fraudulent elections in the MFP that I was reminding him of. But the Ducky has no reply to these so he eludes the issue.

Ducky talks about the world having changed. And in his revisionist view of Philippine history he gives a lot of credit to the 'friends' and relatives of Marcos for the dictator’s downfall. He also derides the contribution of groups like the MFP in bringing down the dictatorship. There are many things that change in this world but there are certain things that are constant. To change your perception of events just because their true significance has become a current inconvenience is to live an existential lie. The act of using historical blinders to satisfy the exigencies of the moment has always been proven to be a bad choice.

But coming from nowhere like a 'deux ex machina' was the Ducky's revelation that in his brief stint as OIC of the malacanang press office he met several MFP people who turned out to be "crooks and scam artist". I will not deny your bragging rights as a Cabinet member and I will admit to you that MFP membership is not a guarantee of saintly behavior. Just like any slice of humanity we had all kinds. But to imply that the MFP coddles and approves of such bad eggs is again a cheap resort to ad-hominem arguments. You have to fall back on your Ateneo training for sapientia and eloquentia and I would suggest that you focus on the sapientia part. Raul Manglapus the founder of the MFP will have difficulty giving you passing marks in logic 101.

The issue as in the time of Marcos is election CHEATING. And if you could not live with that ask your friend Reli German how to deal with it since you know that this former head of ATOM is now the damage control chief of almost everything that has been perceived as damaged in our society. Look at your peers in the Press and your friends in the Public Relations Industry. I would dare say that in this imperfect world the MFP does not have a monopoly of having several potential CROOKS and SCAM ARTIST among its members.

Enjoy your day!

A Writing Project for Musa Dimasidsing

In honor and respect for Musa Dimasidsing a school supervisor in Maguindanao who was killed in cold blood the 9th of June 2007 Tingog.com (Voice of the Filipino) a Philippine socio-political blog has initiated a writing project. It is now on its 2nd day and will end Sunday Noon (Manila time) on the 17th of June 2007 encouraging bloggers of different interest and passion to write an entry in their respective blogs to express their disgust and appeal to put a stop to these senseless election related violence. Submit your blog entry url to Tingog through the comment section or email nick@tingog.com for inclusion to the list of bloggers.

This author was not aware of the project and Nick of Tingog has left me a message in my article on the late Musa Dimasidsing to include my entry titled Maguindanao Poll Fraud Witness Shot Dead written on the 10th of June.2007. This is one way of showing our indignation on election related violence and fraudulent conduct that may have been the reason for the murder of Dimasidsing.

The culture of impunity has to stop, have we not have enough of these killings? We have yet to recover from the shock of hearing the sad plight of the two teachers Nellie Banaag and Leticia Ramos treacherously burned alive in Taysan, Batangas and then another one falls in the altar of sacrifice. For what exactly may I ask? So morons that consider themselves leaders of the people can rob their constituents’ blind? So the likes of Bedol can make a mockery of the electoral process just like his friend Garcillano?

Artemio De La Cruz in his comment had summed it up in this manner;

Benjamin Abalos is in the state of denial since the Hello Garci political scandal. He is using the same defensive line:

Where are the witnesses? Where the complainants? Where are the evidences? It appears that elections commissionaires are pretending to be deaf and blind. They are tolerating election fraud. “What witness? What whistleblower?” This is the reaction of Chairman Abalos regarding the death of Maguindanao whistleblower Musa Dimasidsing. He doesn’t care how many casualties-dead or wounded who are protecting the sanctity of votes. The Comelec goal is TU’s victory by hook and by crook.

A quote from Dr. Ed Del Rosario better known in the Internet as Ka Edong:

MAY A HUNDRED BILLION POISONOUS AND ANTIBIOTIC-RESISTANT STRAIN OF ESCHERICHIA COLI FEAST ON ALL THE VITAL ORGANS OF THOSE WHO KILLED THIS POOR TEACHER. A LOT OF CRIMINAL FOLKS IN THIS ADMINISTRATION ARE SURELY LIABLE. I GRIEVE FOR THE PHILIPPINES' DYING DEMOCRACY!

Fidel Umaga of Movement for Free Philippines had this to say:

As long as we do not find our own death from every man, woman or child that dies from violence and unknown assailants, many more, specially those who have less and the weak, among us would still become victims of undeterred violence and death in our benighted land.

It is a society of immoral people that simply moves on just to meet a quarterly national economic target while leaving at the backhouse the unresolved deaths and mysterious abductions of so many of them.

As suggested and also in one of Fidel Umaga’s response to the other blog entry it is time we hold our elected official accountable in seeing to it that justice is served. Let this signal a start of people’s collective indignation, you don’t have to be a blogger to participate in this project. This is also open to anyone that has no blog to just post a comment on the blogs that has participated in this project where it will be compiled so it can be presented to the people and the authorities concerned. Let them know we do not appreciate what is happening and we will not let it pass until justice has been served to all 130 plus victims of this dastardly senseless barbaric acts. If you feel the need to address people in authority we can start with the comelec at the address below;

Incompetence Galore in Tongelec

Lintang Bedol a promoted tongelec official identified with Team Garci a known friend of Garcilliano (linked and was one of the voice heard in the infamous Garci tape) says elections were held in Maguindanao but the municipal certificates of canvass and statements of votes were “lost”. Okay….. granted it was indeed “lost” or “stolen” why in the name of the patron saint of cheaters will that happen in his watch in his very own office tells you that he surely does not deserve his promotion for his incompetence.

What’s up with government officials who can’t be relied on in securing their own turf? This is sounding so irritatingly familiar just like that military camp that “lost” the license plate of an impounded vehicle that was used in the abduction of JJ Burgos with the commander pointing the blame at their “radical” neighbors of stealing without a shred of evidence but malicious insinuation. Fire them all I dare say for incompetence and irresponsible rumor mongering that will pale in comparison with the fisherman’s wives telling a lie story society.

Weasel galore typifies the tongelec’s mindset when he can’t explain where the heck these election documents are conducting an equally inept investigation leading to nowhere land irresponsibly speculating that the "culprit’s" may have been those who staged a protest rally is pure hog wash. Without offering any lead or having a clue himself as to how the election documents got lost but readily pinpointing the blame on those that staged a rally as the culprit is definitely uncalled for and irresponsible. Now that really tells a lot on the kind of people that gets promoted in the land of cheats, “clueless” as they get, irresponsible as they come truly paves the way for a fraudulent conduct of the electoral exercise.

This "noteworthy" statement from Lintang Bedol from the Inquirer truly amazes me:

"Cheating has to be established by evidence. Unless that is proven, there is presumption of regularity," he said, noting that the claim of teachers who appeared on television saying there were no elections "cannot hold water."

Hmmmmn, as much as I want to agree with the presumption of regularity until it was proven otherwise he should hold his bladder errrr presumption of honest conduct when everyone knew (except him?) that Maguindanao has been the subject of anomalies in the past and continues to be so.

The “guardians” of the sanctity of the ballots riding high in their immaculate Carabao while professing to play fair with their presumption of regularity until proven negate themselves silly in an instance to avoid responsibility and accountability. It is their sworn duty to protect the sanctity of the ballots and along with it the electoral documents who without shame will point the blame of “unexplained” disappearance or “theft” on others without a shred of evidence but pure speculation coming from their wild imaginative creative mind.

Is it any wonder why the likes of witness Musa Dimasidsing gets silenced forever with this kind of attitude and treatment given by these jokers in their unflinching stance of “regularity” until proven otherwise? It appears that they intend to silence instead of protect witnesses just so they can fool themselves and the gullible public that everything is “normal” when that place is the bastion of feudal overlords putting to shame Iglesia ni Manalo’s bloc vote with their “command votes”. Why this Bedol even have the gall to lecture the press with his “knowledge” and “expertise” on command votes when they should know better that this practice should be declared illegal and undemocratic. The question here is what are these jokers doing to solve this moronic command votes or is this part of the “regularity” and “normalcy” in the land where cheating seems to be a virtue?

Maguindanao & Pinoy's Misplaced "Over Sensitivity"

I’ll give it to jokers in this electoral contest when it comes to stand up comic act in a stage or rather staged play of crude untalented performers trying desperately to pass off a scam as a major play of the century.

Maguindanao so it seems is getting bestowed the fraud capital of the Republic of Madaya (cheat) better known as the Philippines. This video report says it all; we see fooliticians, leaders, teachers and voters raising a howl wanting to crucify the “whistleblowers” for “unduly” tainting their impeccable “integrity” are just so unreal. Well it does not come as a surprise as they say monkey see monkey do when the cheating errr seating president set the precedent with parading star witness Acsa Ramirez as the principal suspect really speaks volumes on the kind of integrity we have in this god forsaken trying to pretend they are not a third world country.

In a related development Mr. Dilanghangin errrr Dilangalen was quoted by Inquirer as saying there was an election held but has no clue how many voted or how they voted really does not help at all. He urges the Comelec to conduct an “honest to goodness” investigation to “clear” the names of Maguindanao officials….. say what now? What in the name of Lady Madaya was that all about? Well blow me down and slap me silly but this kind of mentality is what I see with criminal minded people. Clearing their names bah, investigations are conducted to determine if any laws were broken and those culpable hauled to court. Why will the government waste meager resources on “clearing the names” of those officials who were linked in the last fiasco of the Garci scandal be the objective of the investigation really says it all.

What about this bicycle riding we’re corrupt errr Way Kurat Zamora lamenting the allegations as an affront to the Maguindanaon’s who are supposedly “staunch advocate of clean and honest elections”, yikes what in the world is this guy yapping about. This is coming from the guy quoted in a PCIJ article titled “Pork is a political tool, not a developmental tool”:

Congressmen, however, rarely see anything wrong with their role as patrons of their districts and implementers of projects. "Take that away, ano pang gagawin namin (what else would we do)?" asks Compostela Rep. 'Way Kurat' Zamora. "Of course, there's the national budget, naming of streets, but saturated na rin ang laws. And I think without that (pork), no one will run."

Although this is not a statement coming from Way Kurat in the same article it tells you where the tongress people priorities are:

"We're prisoners of the game," says a congressman. "People are kept dependent and poor because that's how you want to keep them. You don't empower them, so they stay poor. You just buy people with project money."

This is a stark reminder of that infamous event when the Philippines sent grown man with shaved facial, armpit, and leg hairs passing them off in the Little League Baseball in Long Beach, California USA. There is this similarity in the way people reacted to that shameful expulsion of the Philippines in the world Little league baseball event wherein Filipinos of “integrity” wanting to skin the journalist alive for exposing the fraud instead of those behind the fiasco. Same thing here in Maguindanao, we see the people ganging up on the teacher whistle blowers when it was clear what the “villain” witnesses were saying……. check the penmanship in the ballots, they are mostly coming from three penmanship.

On a positive note and let’s hope that they will pursue the case until those culpable is sent to jail for life for electoral fraud in this Inquirer report:

The affidavits -- secured by the GO-Party-List Task Force Poll Watch through interviews conducted by members of the Suara Bangsamoro early this week -- comprise the first documentary evidence of fraud in Maguindanao and will be used by the task force to seek the voiding of the elections there, which resulted in a 12-0 sweep of the administration’s Team Unity.

In his affidavit, a 51-year-old man said he and his fellow BEI members were taken from the treasurer’s office on May 14 to a banana patch where they filled up ballots while armed men stood guard.

He said they were taken to the National Irrigation Administration office in Shariff Aguak when night fell on Election Day and kept on “standby” the entire May 15 before the counting of votes started much later, in the evening of May 16.

The BEI member asked that his name and that of his town be withheld until he deems it safe to face the Commission on Elections.

In his own affidavit, BEI poll clerk Faisal Kalantungan said 38 ballot boxes and 190 election returns (ERs) had yet to be picked up from the Pagalungan municipal council 10 days after Election Day although the provincial canvass had already been completed.
