The Power of Schmooze Award was created by Mike at Ordinary Folk and Danielle at Pink Reviews and it has generated a buzz among the blogging community spreading exponentially like wildfire. We have to have continuity so with the award comes The Power to Schmooze which I will exercise so I can publicly recognize bloggers that have earned my respect and admiration. If it was up to this Jaywalking Cyber Pedestrian Observer five (5) is really a small number because I have so many in my list that deserves the award for their contribution and standing in their own respective communities. Some of whom are not just in the online world but in the physical world where they are truly making a dent in making this world a better place.
The awardees therefore are not in their order of appearance and I have to agonize in my choice because there are more that deserves the award. The good thing is they will then have to continue on the schmoozing so that we don't unfairly leave others that are deserving said recognition. Please find below the list of blogs in my Power to Schmooze award:
- Gabriel of Project Afterlite a technology blog - You must have been wondering why I have given an award to the person who gave me an award, well for one I have seen one of the originator did it so it is acceptable. Secondly as I have mentioned earlier Gabriel being a technology guru has helped me tweaked my blog and despite his reservation to join my community has persisted to understand what the Jaywalker is all about and for his appreaciation of the contents of my blog he deserves an award from me.
- Ang Kapatiran Party (note their site is down, they have exceeded their bandwidth becauseof the deluge of traffic and inquiry on how to join their party) for daring to be different amidst the muck of dirty political parties of the ruling minority elite daring to campaign based on political platform away from personality and patronage type politics of the trapos (Traditional Politicians although there is nothing traditional about these old guards but being lords of patronage and personality politics). For ushering a new era in the arena of guns, goons, and gold they have launched a people funded campaign against the big vested funds of the legitimate and illigitimate kind. The award of having an influence in the political scene and Philippine society at large will not be complete without the three trailblazing candidates courage to stand up against the formidable opponents surely will not be complete without them. The Power to Schmooze Award for their contribution to society and giving us hope goes to Ang Kapatiran Party candidates namely Martin Bautista, Zosimo "Jess" Paredes, and Adrian Sison.
- Darfur: An Unforgivable Hell on Earth by nowickedwitch and nobrownoser deserves recognition for their untiring effort to bring to the international attention the horrific genocide and unimaginable human sufferings going on in Darfur. To quote:
"They said it could never happen again... But it is happening. Armed conflict in Darfur, Sudan has left over 200,000 dead, forced more than 2.5 million people from their homes and placed millions of people - in Darfur and the neighboring countries of Chad and Central African Republic - at risk of starvation, disease and further attacks. United Nations officials have called this the world's worst humanitarian disaster today. Won't you join us in saving lives?" Larry Cox, Amnesty International USA Executive Director - Tips for New Bloggers by Bizwhiz barely 5 months in blogging but has been really helpfull to technically challenge bloggers like this Jaywalking Cyber Pedestrian Observer. Bizwhiz was instrumental in helping me rearrange the layout of my blog into a 3 column blog with a lot of tips on the nitty gritty of blogging that would probably take me forever to figure out. Thumbs up for this dummies guide, tips, tricks, help for all new bloggers on Web templates, Blog templates, designs, widgets, layout, JavaScript, HTML codes, SEO, Google AdSense, gadgets, diagnostic tools, and how to monetize Blogger or Blogspot blogs.
- Save Luisa and Nilo Movement, an effort by 2 sisters, daugthers of Luisa Posa-Dominado the missing abducted actvist in Iloilo a province in the Southern Visayan region of the Philippines. Their courage and resoluteness of not giving up hope in a nation where personal views that does not conform to the whims and caprice of its ruler with questionable tenure exposes one to unimaginable dangers.
Let the Power of Schmooze lives on and more power to the awardees in making a difference in their respective communities.

Thanks Gab, I'm glad you like my choices.
Totally awesome and the Darfur blog appreciates it. I will have to figure out how to work all these recent awards for the blog soon. I will check back at the original site for this tomorrow and see what the directions are.
