Traydor!

That is a strong Spanish word meaning traitor and with its adoption into the Pilipino dialects coupled with the repetitive experiences of a nation betrayed that word carries strong emotional weight.

At this time that is the most apt word to describe Manny Villar, Chiz Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano as well as all the other senators elect who won in the wake of strong opposition sentiment and who are now capitulating to a majority in the incoming senate dominated by the administration.

No amount of justification saying that they will still act as opposition can be acceptable.

Traydor!

I voted for Chiz, and Alan Cayetano - making sure that i got the 'Alan' part right. Now i see that those are wasted votes.

Traydor!

And I voted for Trillanes and Koko Pimentel and from the early signs I see these will not be wasted votes and the possibility that these two young men will someday lead the country in tandem as President and Vice-President is a very gratifying thought.

But Manny Villar! Sayang! (what a waste!)

I was about to vote for Manny Villar - but i had second thoughts and eventually did not. These recent events proved me right. Traydor!

In effect Manny Villar was a Trojan horse all along!

Traydor!

That word is a very good word and fits Manny well. If he has not realized it yet he has just lost the 2010 presidential elections.

Traydor!

The people are awake. About 11 million of them. And more if we count those votes shaved from the vote that Trillanes actually got. There is a core of about the same number that confirms such wakefulness in the votes that Koko Pimentel got. We will build on that core. And we will remember.

For the others we only have one word. And one word works for wise men and even sometimes for fools.

Traydor!

We will remember!

I thought Philippine Politics has changed. It seems we are going through the same thing again. People marched along EDSA to support GMA as she overthrows Erap. GMA betrayed the m so they again marched against her admin. There is really nothing new about our politics as TV stations dish out same old teleseryes.

REALIGMENT WITH THE ADMINISTRATION SENATORS - A PERVERSE SENSE OF GRATITIUDE TO THE FILIPINO PEOPLE.

That to me is what the reported realignment of MANNY VILLAR, CHIZ ESCUDERO,ALAN PETER CAYETANO AND FRANCIS PANGILINAN, with the administration senators at the Senate of the 14th Congress, would mean.

It means that for the Nth time, the people’s interest plays second fiddle to convenience and personal ambitions of some of those, in whose hands, we reposed our faith and trust during this hour of national peril.

It also means that we elected MANNY VILLAR, CHIZ ESCUDERO, ALAN PETER CAYETANO AND FRANCIS PANGILINAN to the Senate to deliver, IN A SILVER PLATTER, our dreams and hopes for a better Philippines right into the lap of the sitting power in Malacanang.

It also means that the majority block at the Senate at the 14th Congress would be in the hands of the people upon whose idea TEAM UNITY was founded and not in the bosom of the Genuine Opposition, who were overwhelmingly chosen by the people during the last election.

In another sense, parang nanalo din, BIG TIME, sina Chabit Singson, Tessie Aquino Oreta, Vic Sotto, Cesar Montano etc. and Team Unity.

In more ways, what the seeming complicit incompetence of Comelec and the criminal negligence of Lintang Bendol had failed to deliver in Maguindanao, greed for power and personal ambition sounded the death knell of the collective aspiration of our people for a better Philippines within the next three years.

It also means that the Rule by Law would still continue; the unsolved killings and abductions would remain, corruption would still run amuck all over the width and breadth of national governance and that the blood and sacrifice, of those who secured and defended the sanctity our votes during the last election, would remain unrequited and for naught.

This is cesspool politics at its finest, courtesy of those whose vocation, it seems, is to be the regret of those who believed in them.
